Arenal Oasis is a small wildlife refuge with a rainforest trail which combines open and reforested areas. In addition to bird watching, Arenal Oasis offers a butterfly farm and terrariums with amphibian and reptile species.
Among the most frequently observed are: Pasarini’s Tanager (Ramphocelus passerinii), Buff –throated Saltador (Saltator maximu), Bananaquit (Coereba flaveola), Wood Thrush (hylocichla mustelina), Common Tody- flycatcher (Todirostrum cinereum). |
Here you can observe other less common species as well such as: purple and green Nymph Hummingbirds (Thalurania colombica), the black and white owl (CICC nigrolineata), Black throated Wren (Thryothorus atrogularis),Greenheaded Trojan (Trogon rufus), Streakheaded Woodcreeper (Lepidocolaptes souleyetii) Broad billed Motmot (Electron platyrhynchun) and the Barred Antshrike (Thamnophilus doliatus).
